The Ashes coming home!
We had a great evening on Tuesday playing the boys from Houghton Hall. See the pictures below of the Kiwi team bringing home the Ashes. After the game we all had a celebration of pigs in blankets and a couple of beers at The Crown Inn.
True to form rain stopped play as Houghton Hall prepared to bat!

Royal Norfolk Show 2010
With the recent spate of hot weather, the 2010 Royal Norfolk show promised to be a good one! Nearly 100,000 people attended over the course of the show which is held annually at the Royal Norfolk Showground in Norwich.
Myself and Arthur Howell had a great day in sweltering heat performing cookery demo's for some good sized crowds!

Daphne - No.1 Fan
I was contacted this week by Panda Licorice about an exquisite lady, 85 year old Daphne Traynier, from Caister-on-Sea. Daphne has had a 25-year licorice addiction and thanks to her loyalty, Panda Licroice named her their biggest fan. It turns out she is also my number 1 fan.
After indulging her passion for licorice every week for the past 25 years, I teamed up with Panda to arrange a special visit for Daphne on her 86th birthday weekend with me at the Crown Hotel in Wells. Click here to read the press release from Panda Licorice.
Well done Daphne!

For whom the bell trolls!
What a week! From a £16million collection of super cars on Thursday to trolls over the bank holiday weekend. The Flying Kiwi, aka Chris Coubrough, got stuck in to help his two favourite trolls with their tasty menu. Together we taught 100 children how to make a trolls favourite dinner...mud pie!

Flying Kiwis at Houghton Horse Trials
We've had an eventful few days! We were invited to prepare and cook the canapés for the riders and owners at the prestigious Houghton Horse Trials on Thursday evening only to find we didn't have a kitchen to work in just 24 hours before hand.
With a little blood, sweat and almost a few tears, we kindly received our tent back from the Rudham Cricket Club...an instant kitchen!
I was also fortunate enough to be invited to Paul Whittams super car club dinner and a gentle drive in the country! I enjoyed a lovely dinner at the Hoste followed by morning tea at Houghton Hall with an astonishing £16millon pounds worth of supercars cars in toe. The photos show me with my business partner Ken in a stunning Bentley and with my new red Ferrari Enzo!

The Ship Opening Week
Last week we had the grand opening of The Ship. We had various events held all week for press, friends of the Flying Kiwi Inns, local businesses, a group of 50 women and residents from the local area. We had a photographer with us all week and these are the photos we took.
We'll have more images and a gallery uploaded in the near future. In the meantime, we hope to see you in the Ship for a drink and a bite to eat...maybe a weekend stay in one of our new luxury rooms!

First service at the Ship Hotel, Brancaster
After months of building, planning and moving, we invited 50 women to help open the Ship Hotel in Brancaster.
"Spending the day with 50 women...someone's got to do it! Our first service at the Ship went well, although I had forgotten how hard it was to open a place. I hope to see you there in the near future."
